The Legend of the Navajo Spider Woman

The Navajo culture credits their deity, Spider-Woman, for teaching them how to weave beautiful blankets and Double D Ranch’s ‘Spider-Woman Collection’ acknowledges her talented gift of spinning and weaving as well. 

Our dusky color palette draws from the Dinè women’s velvet blouses and traditional broomskirts with purple hues such as “Indian Iris”, “Purple Sage”, and “Thistlebrush”.  Earthy, “Blue Corn” and “Raindance” add a tranquil feel to the palette that gets punched up with simple greens and dirt-like brown hues. 

Traditional weavings, old pawn jewelry, and classic Navajo dress influence Double D Ranch’s textiles and graphics for this season with an emphasis on prized artisanal handicrafts. Velvet stages a comeback as a key fabrication.
