Everybody needs a good concho belt...
...and this concho belt by the famous Roger Skeet Jr. is a beauty!
Very collectible, this vintage belt was handcrafted by Roger Skeet, Jr. (deceased) using the same stamps and tools used by his father for C.G. Wallace. Comprised of eight beautifully proportioned oval conchos, set with evenly hued turquoise stones, this belt finishes with a complimentary square buckle - all in the traditional old style technique.
This vintage concho belt is a nice weight and is ideal for pairing back with your jeans and broom skirts. A 40” black leather strap is supple and broke-in with just the right amount of wear.
Roger Skeet Jr (b. 1932) was taught by his famous father, Roger Skeet Sr, a smith for C. G. Wallace. His work is traditional, old style. Mark Bahti’s book, Silver + Stone - Profiles of American Indian Jewelers, Skeet states, "I would like to have gone to school and served my people on the tribal council." However, as the oldest of eight children, his father chose him at the age of eight, to stay at home and learn the silversmithing trade.
